The Charlotte Hornets get the 9th pick. Who will it be?

With the lottery scam over, we know that we will be picking at #9.

OK folks, Who will that pick be?

Hezonja or Booker is my guess.  Probably Booker since Hezonja I bet won't be there.  Stanley Johnson wouldn't be horrible.  Kaminsky or Porzingis also candidates

I'll think about this question a lot over the summer...I did not find college ball very exciting this year so I skipped most of it. So I'll end up studying most of the players over the summer lol.

    Devin Booker!!

I have a feeling it'll end up being Booker. He did really well at the combine and he seems like the most polished player and the best pure-shooter that will be available at that point.

     Booker!!

Yeah but you can never predict what we do.  We definitely have one of the most tight-lipped franchises in the league.  Who knows what we'll end up doing.  Everyone thought we were going T-Rob in 2012, Zeller came out of nowhere over Noel and Len in 2013, and none of us even mentioned the possibility of Vonleh last year (mainly bc he wasn't supposed to be there), etc.  That's why I'll basically look at every guy possible that could go around 9

Booker is getting a lot of love these days.  Would not be a bad pick at #9.  Also like Hezonja.   Johnson would be my wild card.  But my guess is one of these 3.

I would so love us to come out of this year's draft with no pick but a splashy trade deal.

    Is Booker better than Stauskas?

I still feel like they should be looking trade. Either for an impact vet or seeing if there's any sort of 2/3-for-1 package they can talk the Knicks into for pick #4.

the problem is it might be a buyers market not a sellers market. there could possibly be 4 or 5 teams in the top 10 looking to trade their pick, including the knicks.

Hezonja, Johnson, or Turner. We can't mess this up can we?

Edit: I have no idea what went on at the combine because I missed it but from what I saw of college ball last season I wouldn't be mad if we took Booker.

I will puke over every square inch of TWC Arena if we draft Turner, and then I'll join up with AliG and his insane crusade against Cho.

After top 4, feel  Henzonja, Winslow, WCS & Pozingis are most likely to go next leaving us with Stanley Johnson and I'd be OK with taking him at #9.

i can talk myself into about anyone, but I agree with you on Turner. There really is NOTHING to like there

Yeah. Like, he's tall and long, which is great. He's a good shooter for a seven-footer. But he NEVER puts the ball on the floor. He has one post move, and it's catch, quick turn, shoot. He doesn't back in, he doesn't use his size, he doesn't dribble. He just catches, turns, shoots. And as a three-point shooter, he's pretty much a novel set piece.

He also has knee issues (HUGE red flag for a seven-footer) and has pretty much the worst running gait I've ever seen.

In conclusion, if Turner is able to add to his arsenal, he'll still end up being done in three years because his knees are going to give sooner rather than later.

Plus, we already have Vonleh, who has way more potential than Turner. He can dribble, has some more post moves, and has the same three-point consistency as Turner. Plus he doesn't run like a goose.

I didn't know about his knee problems. That is very concering! Some poster on RGM has people talked into him eventually being the best player from this draft class or was that here? I forgot.

Just like last year it is an eight player draft and we have the ninth pick.  Luckily the Kings are ahead of us again. The pick will be S. Johnson.  If the Kings take one of the eight best players the pick will be WCS or Booker.

Man, people are so hot or cold on prospects, I am generally in the realm of there are likely 5-10 guys who could help us, some maybe more than others but all would be reasonable picks.

Yeah, I was just thinking about this. We're going to get a good player that can help. Tier 1 is obviously Towns/Okafor/Russell/Mudiay.

But Tier 2 is pretty deep with Winslow, Mario, Kristaps, WCS, Stanley, and maybe even Booker.

WCS and Kristaps are getting hyped up as high picks now, so it seems we'd have a choice of Winslow, Herzonja, Johnson, or Booker. Those four are good to potentially really really good players who can contribute right away, and have shown good shooting at their level.

Mario and Booker probably fit the team best, but Winslow and Johnson could very well be allstars in their own right, and be better 2 way players.

I'm actually excited seeing the workouts and getting any one of those 4 guys.

i'm the same. I just don't want Myles Turner lol. I even wouldn't mind Frank the Tank

Love Herzonja but I think he is the 4th best player in this draft above Mudiay.  Don't see him making #9.  It will probably be Stanley Johnson or the guy I want Booker.  Booker is underrated to me.  Myles Turner would be my surprise pick but that wouldn't be that surprising given big Al's age and injuries lately.

I'm all for 2 way players...we need as many of those as we can get.

I don't follow college ball much until the tourney, so I'd definitely take the word of those who do follow it more, but from what I've ready about Johnson (who seems to pop up the most for us in mocks I've seen) he fits that 2 way player mold rather well. Doesn't seem to be an absolute knock-down 3 point shooter, but does seem to be good enough to warrant attention from the defense.

Same here. Our team really isn't very good or built well, so any addition in talent is a plus. I prefer Booker right now but there are 10 guys I could see us taking at 9 that would be fine.
