Stephen Jackson gets franchise’s first ever triple-double as the Bobcats stomp the Suns

Captain Jack had his game hitting on all cylinders Saturday night to deliver the franchise's first ever triple double with 24 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. After having so many close calls in the past from Raymond Felton, a tantalizingly close call from Emeka a few years back where he fell one rebound short, its great to finally have one in the books for the Bobcats. Apparently late in the game Jax wasn't really looking for the triple double, but Larry Brown left him in so he could get it.

Jax talks about it in the video below.

In addition to Jax ripping the Suns up, there were others that had strong games too. Our power forward combo punished the Suns all night, Boris Diaw abused his former team with 26 points and 6 assists and Tyrus Thomas added 22 points and 6 rebounds off the bench. DJ Augustin had a solid game with 16 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and yet another zero turnover game. That pushes his league leading assists/turnover ratio up to 5.17.

Highlights from last night

This was a good win for the Cats, they did what they needed to do against a team without its top player (Steve Nash), which is also a team that plays absolutely NO defense. It isn't as rewarding as a win against the Heat would have been, but its a game the Cats were supposed to win, so we'll gladly take it.

Looking forward, we have a very, very interesting back to back coming up Tuesday and Wednesday night against the New York Knicks. Do you think these two games will stir up that old Raymond Felton -vs- DJ Augustin debate? You can bet your life on that.
