    Be still my beating heart!

    Addition by subtraction.

    Good

    Hell yeah.

Damn, that's not a half bad trade at all.

Agree with the addition by subtraction aspect plus we added much needed PG depth.

Also think this will finally quell the JJ rumors which is another positive.

I wish we could add a legit starting 4 but that'll have to be addressed in the off-season, most likely.

Never felt Neal fit the Hornets from the start. The team needed a shooter but his mentality never seemed as if he wanted to truly be in Charlotte.

SO HAPPY to be rid of Gary Neal and his Shittiness. I wish him the best of luck at the end of the Minnesota bench.

On a sidenote, anyone think it is funny that Bonnell has all these sources in Sacramento and was the last to report anything about this trade? I really don't understand how he keeps his job. The NASCAR writer for the observer, Jim Utter, has been filling in for Rick lately in some games and in my opinion has done a great job, with actual insight and good reporting, while keeping the fans in the loop at the same time. Seems Rick is out of the loop or just doesn't care

It's so funny.  After I heard him on 610 at around 1230-1245, and he said that he thought it was 50-50 that the Hornets make any trade this season, and didn't really put a lot of faith behind the Mo Williams rumors, and less than 30 minutes later..... BOOM!

I've always questioned Bonnell as a 'beat writer', but he is one of the last to ever know what the hell is going on with 'his' team.

    As for the trade....

Love it!  Gets a slumping vet that wasn't working out for a veteran PG that helps now, as well as backing up Kemba later in the year. Daniels is icing on the cake for a 3 point shooter off the bench.

    Very good trade. Impressive, Cho.

Once Kemba is back, Mo will be a top-flight back-up point and we won't have to saddle Kemba with 40 MPG.

Ding dong, the witch is dead. Adios Neal, I wish I could say I will miss you.

I don't know.  I think Cliff will just slot Mo into Neal's spot and will be a combo guard.  I think B Rob is doing fine as Kemba's back up.

Mo Williams put up 52 in Banker's Life Fieldhouse this year.  FIFTY-TWO.

Maybe, but Williams is a better playmaker, Roberts is a better shooter, especially in catch-and-shoot situations. You could be right, but I have an easier time seeing Williams as the back-up PG and Roberts as the "combo guard."

What is the difference in salary/years between Neal and Williams?

What is the difference in salary/years between Neal and Williams?

Almost nothing. Both making around 3 million, both UFAs after this season.

Okay.  You might be, and probably are right.  I just had to add that B Rob will still be in the mix.

It makes me wonder, when/if we ever get healthy, what will happen with Lance's role.

I don't know much about Mo Williams - anyone have a player profile to share? What to expect as far as his ability to move the ball?  Does he slash like Ramon or is a more of a distributor?

Really excited about the trade and similar to you guys I think not waiting on Neal to turn the corner is a benefit.  While I wish him well he was seemingly struggling to find a shot.  On top of that I think his injuries were mounting.

Getting rid of Gary Neal really helps this team and the roster is a lot more balanced now.

Mo and B-Rob can definitely both be streaky shooters, I feel like the team can start Mo and choose to ride whoever is hot between them down the stretch.

Wonder if he can fly out and play today a la Stephen Jackson.

Coach Clifford may be in a bar tossing back a few after this. It took a trade to finally get Neal off the court. PJ & Taylor may be giving each other high fives after hearing this news.

I don't think this completely kills a future deal for Lance, either. This next week will be very interesting.

I don't know man.  You're asking coach to make a substitution in the second half.  Is that even possible?

Cho knows... best way to sub a player is you either have to break a players leg or trade him to the great white north.

The only downside to this trade is that it's more turnover on a team that so far through the all star break has yet to find cohesiveness.

Disappointed Neal didn't work out as I think he could have.  Gave us solid 40% 3P last year and started with a really strong 42% early in November...was the only guard hitting anything in November.  When he was good and we where losing so badly its really easy to overlook that.  But man, he just went in the cellar so badly, that was hard to look but with winning its something can understand team hoping he can work through.  Honestly think when he lost 22 pounds, felt able to drive on anybody, but couldn't finish on anyone.  Second worst on team 40% efg, but has a 48% 3P catch and shoot.  Wouldn't be surprised can stay in league if can get back to being purely a role player catch and shoot guy.

Love the trade, as others for the Neal is an addition by subtraction now and fills a big need.  Even if only ends up with significant minutes short term when Roberts won't have to play 40 minutes like last night, can now ease Kemba needs it.

2nd round pick...we sell the for cash anyhow so the cost is some money for Jordan.

I can't help but wonder if the Pelicans are ready to give up and sell Ryan Anderson yet? I'd love to add him.

I think I might do a 1st and Lance to get Afflalo and player X as well. Even if he opts out, if he performed well here the 2nd half of the season I could see us paying to keep him.
