2014 Mock Draftapalooza

My plan is to keep this running all the way up to draft night and we'll see how far we get.

What we will do is vote on who you think will (not who you want to) be picked at each draft position. Once we have a clear consensus for each position, I will add update the first post of this thread with the results, update the poll for the next position and we will move on to the next spot.

#1 - Cleveland Cavaliers - Joel Embid

#2 - Milwaukee Bucks - Jabari Parker

#3 - Philadelphia 76ers - Andrew Wiggins

#4 - Orlando Magic - Dante Exum

#5 - Utah Jazz - ?

This first pick is a head-scratcher for me. I think it's going to be between Embiid and Wiggins, I'd go with Embiid. Don't ask me to explain, I just feel it that way.

Joel Embiid with the early lead.

If they are willing to write off Bennett as a bust, then Wiggins would make sense too.

    Gotta pick Embiid.

    He's special.

They're all special. The top four in this draft is one of the best I've ever seen since I became infatuated with the NBA 15 years ago.

Voted for Embiid too, though. I think Jabari Parker makes the most impact first out of anyone in this draft, but Wiggins will eventually become the better player. Embiid is going to be a very good center, and that's what the Cavs need right now. Embiid and Thompson down low would be hard to get past.

Still, just based off of mocks, comparisons, scouting, potential, etc., wouldn't surprise me at all if they take Wiggins.

looks like you gotta click "delete my vote" before you can vote in the next poll, for the bucks.

    Give it another try Adam,

I had to delete my vote as well.

    Voted for Wiggins this time.

Could go either way..I think Parker..will be on Bucks.

I think the Bucks pick Parker with #2.

It really is an incredible top-8.

I want to say Wiggins but for some reason I think the Bucks are thiking Parker here.

Parker is more likely to be able to carry the scoring load of a bottom-feeding team like the Bucks, whereas Wiggins' career could suffer mightily from all the immediate pressure. I think the FO understands that and they go with the "safer" of the two potential stars in Parker.

I'm never sure what to think with the bucks. Their roster is a total mess right now and I really don't know where they're heading. Parker would definitely be the best fit for them, I'm willing to think their FO realizes that and go for him.

Hmmm... #2 is still pretty close.  I'll let this one run a while longer today to see if a gap widens.

For #2 I'm voting Exum - if he really is the Australian Penny Hardaway he'd fit very nicely in between Giannis and the 6'2" shooting guard they currently have playing point guard. Plus, some smart teams (Boston, Orlando) supposedly have Exum at the very top of their draft board.

    Embild #1, Parker #2, Wiggins #3, Exum #4

I had to delete my vote as well.

    Voted for Wiggins this time.

Same here and same here.  I voted for Wiggins at #1, I'll do it again here, and looking like I'll have to do it again at 3.

Jabari Parker with the narrow win for the #2 pick.

For #3, you may have to delete your votes and revote again.... But this should be the easiest pick of them all

    wonder who'll get taken third

Didn't someone say the 6ers were infatuated with Exum to the point they'd be willing to trade MCW?

    Yep.

I don't think they have the stones to do it though.

That only made sense to me if Orlando was so desperate for a point guard they'd swap the fourth pick for Carter-Williams if Exum was off the board, allowing Philly to come out of the draft with Exum plus one of Wiggins/Parker. I don't see them trading MCW for anything less than fantastic value if they're passing up Wiggins or Parker to take Exum.

Pick #3 was a 100% consensus for Wiggins.

Pick 4 is where it gets interesting. Exum seems like the logical choice, but there are also rumors that they have been in love with Marcus Smart since his freshman year.

Not letting me vote in this one, Ziggy. I keep getting an error message.

OK, I think I have this poll deletion thing figured out.

    Give it another try.
