Probably already something like this I missed, but here's a place to put all the small offseason things that may not need an entire thread.

First up.

Cody Zeller named to NBA all second team.  http://www.nba.com/2...ions/index.html

I would be much more excited if he was working on catching and/or scoring a basketball.  Nobody doubts Biz is a physical specimen, but to this point basketball player he is not.

If you truly think that it is that simple, I really have to question your judgement.

Biyombo is not a bust.

Congratz to Cody on a rookie season that was filled with ups and downs, having the word 'bust' thrown around more than once and many notable cringe worthy falls to the floor. However also, he looked like a God in pre-season, looked completely over-awed in NBA games and slowly built from there.

Look forward to many more season with the Z-rex playing for us.

MCW & Burke are PG, we already had Kemba and there's no way we spent a 4th pick for Plumlee or Hardaway.

Zeller was a great pick.

Plus, most of the guys on this list played for BAD teams, so they were expected to contribute much more this year.  The only player from a playoff team with more votes than Cody was Plumlee, and he also had to play a lot this year due to injuries/roster.  I'm still fine with the Zeller pick.

Sidenote:  I cautiously opened this thread expecting something to do with poop.  Not that there's anything wrong with that.  Just that you don't want too much poop on your screen in case you're at work or something...

Why are people still thinking so short term.

Okafor vs Howard, we ended up geting Okafor. Okafor was ROTY with 15/11, while Howard put up 12/10.

In that first year, people would say 'yeah, Okafor is definately better, we got the right pick.'

And look what happened, Okafor stagnated as a 14/10 guy, while Howard went to 20/10 and became a little bitch who ran off to Houston.

Especially for big guys, they take a good 4-5 years to develop if raw, and many don't even make it.

But it hard not to cheer for Biz, dude works his ass off, just we all wonder if all that working will finally translate to the court.

Labeling Biz a bust is premature.  Dude is a sparkplug off the bench, and though you hope for more from the #7 overall pick, we all knew he was 3-5 years out before we would see a return.  This is a patient process and after this draft, we will see the patience pay off.  After the draft and FA this offseason, we will finally have NBA-contender type depth across the board.  Hendo, Taylor, Biyombo and Zeller make a helluva second unit, and knowing Clifford, they will get some serious minutes.  I really think that Biz can make another leap in '14-'15 to be a 12/8/2 rotational big with the sporadic 17/10 game sprinkled throughout.  Agree that he needs to spend the offseason with Ewing working on his basketball game versus his physique.

Biz showed some serious improvement this year. Making jump hooks, hitting a few short jumpers, playing post-up basketball, moving without the ball a lot more. He clearly listened and learned a lot from Al and Pat. Problem is he just didn't get the minutes to show it all off this year.

Far from a bust, especially considering his age and how little he had played basketball prior to being drafted. Major project, but we should keep working with him. We should be able to keep him in Charlotte pretty cheaply by the time he hits free agency. He could end up being a 5+ year project, but having that defensive boost and athleticism off the bench is perfectly fine for me as a back-up center for the time being.

"Plain and simply" calling him a bust is kind of stupid.

I don't think this deserves it's own thread so I'll throw it in here. Gerald had arthroscopic surgery on his wrist.
