Oh hell yeah! We got ourselves a ballgame now fellas (& sexually confused other if Ms Zeller is still out there). To quote Dusty from Planes "That - was - awesome!" :-

And gotta absolutely love the financial end of this. And a team option third? Geez, he must have really been unhappy with more than the $44M offer in Indiana.

3 years and 27 million is a bargain. We still have money for Boozer or some other free agent.

In my opinion they got him fairly cheap.

Now I will sit back and patiently wait for the Anti-Lance folks to lose their minds when they wake up and read this news,

Funny thing though Ziggy, when we had both Tyrus and Jax, it was a lot of techs but Jax sort of put energy into TT to help him along. Lance might put some antic energy into helping PJ along, and right now, the latter seems to be the more of a concern.

ESPN has it up on their front page (link to story). From the article:

Like many teams, the Hornets, while fans of Stephenson's play, had concerns about his antics and attitude. But sources say those concerns were alleviated in Tuesday's face-to-face meeting.

fairly split. factor in the rationalization stage of grief and i think the fans were minimum 70/30 on wanting him back v not.

I will be excited to put their "much worse team" comments to rest this year.

It's  like going home with the last hot girl in the club, but you know she probably has STD's, but it's so late you think "what the hell"

Great signing!  Love the value and the 3rd year is a team option.  This is a win-win for the Hornets and Lance.   And we are in the mix for one of the best in the East.

Wow. That contract is shocking.

I figured it would take 3/36 or 3/44 to land him.

Either he simply preferred us to IND or IND didn't really want him back (the possibility of the latter does scare me a bit).

Didn't they make some moves after that 5/44 offer? Do we know for sure what they were currently offering?

Either way, this is outstanding.

That's only 200k more than the Pacers offer AND the years aren't as favorable?

He must have really wanted out of Indiana.

I'm THRILLED with the contract!

I'm glad Cho ended up offering less than what Lance was demanding of Indy.  I heard on Mike & Mike that Lance feels the shorter deal will allow him the opportunity to prove the critics wrong, he's essentially betting on himself to show the world that he deserves more.

He needed a fresh start somewhere outside of Indy, we were the only other option and Cho knew that.

The 3rd year team option is an absolute slam dunk.  Lance rejected Indy's July 1st offer of 5yr/$44M (an average of $8.8M/year) and Cho lands a $9M/yr offer w/ only 2 years guaranteed, good use of assets/cap space.
