Priebus has just said that the administration has reversed course and that green card holders won't be stopped from entering either. But I'm curious Chef, do you really think that issuing such an order as it originally stood without thinking through the implications speaks well of this administration?
(And just to be clear... I think the executive order is still a travesty even with the reversal on green card holders.)
nope. the way it should have been done was to stop all immigration/refugee/visas from those countries immediately. all prior green cards and active visas were unaffected. however, they could be "reanalyzed" and recalled in the future if it is found to be non-compliant with new standards. totally within the executive branch powers and a much cleaner and clearer process.
again, i really don't want to start an argument on whether it is necessary or not as a whole, just the logistics of it.
