I just don't understand ya'll that are planning on jumping ship, the team can't go anywhere right now. Wouldn't ya'll rather have direction. I love Kemba, I defended him like crazy when most of the site didn't see much of a future in him. But he deserves better, this fan base deserves better.

What is so appealing about sucking with Kemba?  Even if we rebuild with him he'll be in his 30s by the time we're back in the playoff hunt.

I need some of these bad contracts to start looking better on the floor so this summer can be functional on the trade market. That can only happen if we stick to the script and hopefully push to the 7th spot and a surprise 2nd rd trip. Move Batum and/or Dwight in the summer for young valuable pieces and build from there. I want nothing the Knicks have to offer. Unless we're talking Kanter for Dwight and fillers.

holy shit fuck the knicks and nitlikina. what an awful trade.

First off, I know that my opinion is the most important and accurate on this board. Second, I'll just say that I dont believe that kemba is REALLY on the trade block. I think the team has probably said he's available for trade, but that's a different story.

We should be looking to flip the other pieces before kemba. He's not the problem. Only if batum goes with him

I would hate to see Kemba go :( but understand that we can't afford to not hear out other teams trade proposals no matter which player is concerned.
Although listening to others is entirely different to actively shop someone and as we haven't heard anything from our FO I seriously doubt we push for a Kemba trade.

because i would rather watch kemba play and wonder most nights if it will be a win or not than watching some 3 years away prospect play bad basketball and know that there is no chance to win.

there is absolutely zero evidence right now to say that frank the frog will be any better than mcw. he can't even outperform jarrett jack on any given night. this would be a horrible mid season deal.

Kid will be in the league a good 8-10 years longer than MCW.

MCW may not make a squad next year.

I like Frank. I think the kid can play. He’s a teenager right? Read an article that he was still growing.

But like I said in this thread, Kemba most likely not going anywhere.

my larger point is that mitchell, tatum, smith jr, lauri m  even lonzo are all about the same age and are showing they can play in the league. stars show early far more often than bloom late. especially on a team like the nyk.

Friendly reminder.... This entire thing is nonsense until it comes from something other than "sources".

Thought about that last night. IIRC, GHjr was the subject of trade talks at least three or four times, coincidentally he wasn't the year he was traded. I always thought he was in those headlines because the FO didn't mind him being in them. Although a captain in the locker room, he rarely was on the court. Is this a gamble to let Kemba's name appear to be shopped considering how meaningful he is on the court and locker room?

My fear is this could be damaging regardless if they deal him. But I know it's a business and I know these guys do too and it's hard to say how they are handing this internally.. Alternatively, the rumour of shopping out the one part that's consistently working could end up being a call to action for things to galvanize on court that many of us thought would have happened earlier.

Hope it all ends well and do have faith since Cho has a really good track record with trades.
Here comes McRoberts, the throw to Walker, it's in the aaaaaiiiiirrrr, YESSSSS! Bobcats win it! My my my, Kemba Walker. Steve Martin - Toronto 12/18/2013

Mike is sending a message. That’s all this is.

If we were losing like crazy still, after the buzz from a few weeks ago, I would have said that this was real.

I think it’s a smoke screen. Firing up the gang!

Very risky way to fire anybody up, let alone the best player

Well, it is what it is.

The state of the franchise is pathetic. 10th to 7th place purgatory with a top 15 payroll.

So, who do you blame?

Shake it up and see what happens.

You blame the coach/gm/qb?????

What you don't do, is throw players names in the public trade-o-sphere just to "shake things up" . It is their life. Mess with that and your best player, team captain and heart of the franchise just might make it a completely toxic situation.
