I know you guys have amply posted the news in other threads. Just creating this to focus on who he is as a player and what it might mean for the Hornets.

I haven't seen much but he strikes me as a Cody Zeller that can't jump but with better post moves.

If anything I'd say a more fluid and talented version of Aron Baynes which I intend as a compliment.

I don't know nothing about him but he has to be better than JOB. Like  others  it has to be more to come .

Made sure I included him in any hypothetical Kemba to the Knicks trade. I like him a lot.

Defense horrible amount worse in league...offense skilled both shooting and passing and rebounds at high rate (13 per 36 minutes)...for young talent a couple 2nds we tend to trade away anyhow not a bad trade. But if he wasn’t happy with playing time was reason demanding trade in ny don’t see him happy in charlotte unless another trade.

I have always liked Willy when we've played against them. It doesn't make sense to make this move on its own. That being said, it doesn't make sense to get rid of Kemba if we're getting rid of Cho. I also don't see how we get rid of Dwight without Kemba. Furthermore, I would hate to see Cody leave because the worst part about seeing him play is knowing that Dwight is getting more minutes and the effort and play is horrible on Dwight's part. Not sure I'm going to be happy by this time tomorrow.

Cho: “He showed last season that he can contribute when given the opportunity and we believe that the added depth he provides will benefit our frontcourt rotation.”

Thunderdome rules to determine which existing front court player, that cannot hit a three, stays?

Seems like a good low risk move. There is nothing bad that could come from this as we rarely use our second round pics anyway. Glad we won't have to watch JOB anymore. He shot the ball anytime it was in his hands. Never could figure out why Cliff allowed him to do that but not Monk.

I like the move not sure why he fell out of favor in NY. Seems like a raw deal for him as his mins were sure to increase with KP going down and he may not see much action here barring injury or trade.

Based on what I've seen of him (an admittedly very small sample size) , he does not have much a motor on the defensive end.

What's the odds on a Free Willy as the first EC call out?

Safe to say Hernangomez was acquired with 2018-19 and specifically July 2019 in mind. His cheap $1.5M for a solid rotation player should come in handy when Dwight expires (or is traded) in conjunction with Kemba's new deal kicking in.

Relatedly, I now hate the trade for a multitude of reasons. For the cost of (2) 2nds CHA somehow managed to not improve this season, create a path for younger players, address the glaring hole at PG next season, or clear cap space.

What's particularity puzzling is the very real possibility of BPA in the 2018 draft being another big.

Yeah, he should fit right in to our defensive scheme of light jogging after players shooting corner threes.

As I always feel challenged by salary cap rules, it we cannot find a trade option for Dwight this off season and we would like to free willy, if that be the bidding of Cho and Co, does a buyout reduce the cap hit by the amount of the buyout or does his 24m remain on the team's payroll regardless?
