3rd quarter of the Summer League game we all watched yesterday where they interviewed Mitch on air. Toward the end of the quarter.

Kupchak reinforced Sunday in a conference call with Charlotte media that the Hornets are not in rebuilding mode and that one of the goals for next season is reaching the Eastern Conference playoffs.

We should theoretically be able to straddle the line. Kupchak’s comments felt like him emphasizing that he can’t just go sign stars like in LA and will need to hit in the draft every year.

You can build through the draft and not be in rebuilding mode.

Face it - if Kemba leaves then we are screwed. It’s like we are trying NOT to have a plan b. I love what Jordan has done for the state but his expectations for winning now are just unrealistic. What makes this worse is that the 76ers gave the entire league a blueprint on how to build.

My guess is that he is doing this (not tanking) because he wants to keep as many butts in paying seats as possible. The thing is that fans are willing to wait if they see a long term vision.

What makes this worse is the fact that the front office is not on the same page. One says rebuild and the other says hail no! This is not good.

Wow - if a franchise’s all time greatest player leaves said franchise will be in a bad spot.

A revolutionary theory we’re brokering right now.

No one has said anything about rebuilding. Mitch says their plan is to build through the draft and develop their picks. Thats not anything about rebuilding.

I think we didn't draft a PG early in the draft bc we wanted to show Kemba that we are dedicated to him. We did take Graham in the early second though and signed Tony Parker, so we do have a plan for the meantime. If he does leave, I'm sure we'll address the issue. Our team is too talented to do a full tank right now... if you want to tank, you trade Kemba.

I did initially want a PG in the draft, but after seeing Bridges in summer league, I'm totally fine with what we have on the roster. Last year was a team who under performed. The coach did not put players in their best spot to win games. We lost so many close games... couldn't get the ball in bounds. A lot of that was coaching to me. Fix those two things and things play out differently.

Not sure I understand the premise of the thread.  "You want to know pain?"  Umm, we're Hornets diehards, I don't think any of us would know what to do if we suddenly had no pain.  Some of us have dealt with George Shinn, Ray Woolridge, and Bob Johnson.  Bobby Phills.  Game 6 of Eastern Conference Semis vs the Bucks.  Zo breaking up the band.  The Bobcats season of futility that shall never be discussed.  Sam Vincent.  Dunlap.  Gary Neal.  Bernard Robinson's spin move.  Larry MFin' Brown.  The Dwight year.

There's many more, but I have to get back to work.

This scary future you present is nothing but afternoon tea.

Bucks Game 6 and Heat Game 6 will go with me to my grave man. Lost my voice at the old Coliseum and the Cable Box both nights for L's. Amen

I'd add Big Pat losing his damned voice and getting stuck with backup hockey guy on mute. The most deflated sounding PA for a playoff game ever recorded.
Here comes McRoberts, the throw to Walker, it's in the aaaaaiiiiirrrr, YESSSSS! Bobcats win it! My my my, Kemba Walker. Steve Martin - Toronto 12/18/2013

The first basketball I ever saw was early Bobcats era. I was born into the pain you merely adopted it.

Bucks game 6 was most painful night of my sports existence.

Big Dog fargin killed us.

I was 3 rows behind bench. Terrible night.

Some time over a beer, I’ll tell you all about what really went down and why the Hornets left.
