Summer League has started in Utah and Sacramento. In the first night we’ve already seen Marvin Bagley end Mo Wagner’s career (not literally) and Trae Young shoot 1-16 including air balls on his first two three’s. The Hawks are crying.

Games are on NBATV with lots of reruns. Ive got my DVR on blast.

not relevant to those games, but the hornets summer league team looks nasty. I fully expect us to run a few teams out of the gym.

Monk

Grayson Allen had a great start for the Jazz (that won’t last); so did Jaren Jackson for the Grizzlies (that will! Dude is scary good).

Also a Harry Giles sighting playing well for the Kings. If he returns healthy the Kings could have a fun core of Bagley, Giles and Fox.

They actually put Mo Wagner on the 10 day DL...for his broken self esteem after being dunked on so bad. NOT.

I didn't like Trae going 0-9 from three until I saw them. That might be one shooting percentage (0%) stat that undersells the actual.
Here comes McRoberts, the throw to Walker, it's in the aaaaaiiiiirrrr, YESSSSS! Bobcats win it! My my my, Kemba Walker. Steve Martin - Toronto 12/18/2013

I know it's way, way, way early but wow, Trae Young is scary hard to watch. Not that he misses shots, but the kinds of shots he's taking are eeesh.  Didn't watch his first game but watching tonight's on delay and he looks like a disaster on defense early on - was that expected beyond the college player getting used to the NBA bad defense?

I’ve been skeptical of Young’s size and strength as an NBA player. I think he needs a lot of training before he’s ready. Not that he won’t get there; but honestly I think he’s a hot mess at the moment.

I am sure he'll improve but watching this ATL v SAS game, he reminds me of watching Jimmy Claussen with the Panthers.

Does anybody have any insight on Brice Johnson? This guy can't stick to a summer league roster??? There has to be more to the story...

I keep thinking the same but have flashbacks to MKG and Taylor's first year; that wasn't nearly as exciting as we anticipated if memory serves.  Seem to recall that MKG was gimpy through much of it and we didn't exactly show out.

After his first summer league game where he played excellent we were convinced he was the next Pippen

I thought he looked really good in the first game but had some hyperextension or something and he never saw the court again no?

Trae Young must have something going on between the ears on the shooting and defense - he's impossibly bad.  Like there's no way he's really this bad; he's bound to just have a mental hump he has to get over.  Hope for ATL's GM's sake that's the case.  It's weird because there's no way I think he's really this dysfunctional.  He clearly can get to where he wants to such to be an effective passer.

I hope the young ones ball out. But as long as they stay healthy and injury-free summer league will be a success

LOL, will Grayson Allen get thrown in a SL game?  This guy will be inciting or incited all year long - should be fun; can't wait until he tries guarding LeBron once.... once.
