Facts: 7.7 pt, 3.5 assists and 1.7 rebounds in 55 games played last year.

We over paid for mediocrity.

Is it possible to remove thread creation rights or is the only recourse flogging by banhammer?

I think it is a very valid thread. Deserves watching

Especially if it is 2 year guaranteed

Man yall trippin. I dont know what the big deal is. 2 years 10 mil aint nothing. Guy won 4 titles and can give great leadership and play 10 minutes a game.

I'm with Founding Hornet. Good damn job. We need winners in this franchise for a change.

Repeat after me: WE ARE NOT ASKING HIM TO START OR PLAY SIXTH MAN.

Parker is there to be a mentor and assistant bench coach. 5 million a season is reasonable. Can you remember our previous back up PGs? Parker is a clear upgrade.

I'd be more cool with it if our third PG wasn't a rookie 2nd rounder.

As an effective PG on the floor, Parker is done.

We're a Kemba injury from a decrepit old man and rookie splitting the PG minutes. Or if either backup gets hurt, you're looking at a dicey rotation.

I like the concept of signing Parker, but it's definitely a gamble

Solid signing. His role is to provide leadership, be a coach on the floor in practice to help players understand what JB is trying to implement, provide steady pg play for 16 minutes a night, and mentor Graham and get him ready to take over the back up role.

2 years is the perfect length as we don’t have cap room before then anyway.

Hidden part of this signing is getting more out of Batum and also making Batum more excited to p,ay with the reserves.

In my opinion there’s not a lot to legitimately bitch about with this move. Unless you were expecting Argus Smart with the MLE and in that case, your expectations were out of whack.

The other part of this Jgib makes mention of, let's see these rotations too before we assume Tony is going to be counted on as a ball mover.

I think Batum will play more with the 2nd unit under Borrego and you may see some 3 guard lineups with Kemba, Lamb, and Monk if the matchup dictates it with an early sub of Batum.

Tough to rate this signing at this point of time. As has been said before on this board it totally depends on what we expect of him.
If we thinks he's going to give us 20+ solid mins a game we might end up disappointed.
If we want him to provide leadership in the locker room, helps to teach our younger guys (and I include Monk, even Kemba could learn a trick or two...) how to run a team so they are ready to take over in two years time, than we made a solid move.

If kemba is out you'll see more monk and Batum. If captain kemba is out for a long period of time we're screwed anyways. I'm comfortable with a monk/Parker/batum platoon style effort at PG in that situation. MKG can even chip in as an extra ball handler.

Where I’m at. Parker can tutor Walker and Graham while hopefully playing okay minutes until Graham develops. He may not be a guy like Lin, but he’ll be helpful now.

People keep trying to slate monk as a pg. I am glad he played sg in summer league AND Graham was responsible for bringing the ball up. If you want monk to shine, play him off ball as a secondary ball handler.
