I don't think I'm very good at comparisons, but I think he's more of a small Reggie Miller.

So much more athletic than Reggie Miller though. I'm not sure who he is, but hopefully we'll be comparing up and coming players to him in the future.

I am stuck on the comparison to Jeff Teague but with a much better looking outside shot.

Physically and athletically they're close. I think it's clear rookie Monta was much better actually getting to the rim and finishing but it's encouraging he didn't really have a pretty-looking handle either. From what I've seen Reggie was also great getting inside to finish but unlike Monta and rightfully so he was mostly able to do it on close-outs.

If Monk keeps working on his shot and have guys flying at him whenever he spots up like Reggie I think he's enough like Monta to be a more complete scorer. It should also help him seeing Monta was a pretty decent defender starting out.

I think this thread is a fair critique of the Parker signing. I don't hate it but it's hard to love it given IT's availability. If we were going to gamble on a back up PG coming off a serious injury I'd have much rather spent the money on him than a 36 YO Parker.  IT could've given us the second unit scoring we desperately need.

His mentorship alone is worth the pay..the things he will teach Kemba and Monk are priceless.

5 million for mentoring? Heck we might as well bring back Lonzo, glen rice and Larry johnson. I hope that Kemba sticks around to show us what he learned.

5m for mentoring indeed, hopefully he unlocks Batum's game as well so you got both mentoring + a key to success.

Honestly though, this team is not gonna win the championship this or next year, so it doesn't make a difference when you're signing Rondo for 9m or Tyreke Evans at 12m. The money we had available won't take us to another level but planning for the future might.
