Never too early with this team. With Jeremy an FA and Monk likely leaving in a trade for help Mitch will need a guard. Looking at this kid, can't help think of someone we nearly drafted last year...

With us picking in the late teens more than likely, my board as of right now goes 1. Naz Reid 2. Rui Hachimura 3. Moses Brown

After a year of (wfu) underperforming, Jaylen Hoard should be undervalued a la John Collins. And he'd fit in with his countrymen of Nic and Tony.
Here comes McRoberts, the throw to Walker, it's in the aaaaaiiiiirrrr, YESSSSS! Bobcats win it! My my my, Kemba Walker. Steve Martin - Toronto 12/18/2013

I hear that plenty every time someone mentions trading for help. Things may have gotten more drastic at this point.

Annual Cody Zeller injury edition:

Just throwing out some names who could be there for us at our customary spot late-lottery/late teens: Jaxson Hayes, Grant Williams, Brandon Clarke, Killian Tillie...

I say we keep our 8 2nd round picks and take some seasoned college seniors that can come in here and be ready to go in the mold of Devonte Graham. We need just same damn solid guys on this team.

Put me in the pop camp of not liking it.

Holding out hope that Mike sells.

Lot of teams taking notes but could be at our spot because of the slump from three. Reminds me of Shai but stronger and better at getting his own shot.

Really like Jaxson Hayes, long and athletic 6'11" and the son of an NFL coach. A 19-year-old doesn't scream immediate help but kids like Capela and Jarrett Allen offer some hope on that front.

Naz Reid, Simi Shittu, I like Moses Brown from UCLA's upside, and Doumbouya from France even though he's a tweener.

Copied this from the Trade Deadline thread where I accidentally wrote it....

We’re not that far from being 6th in the draft lottery. Don’t think we can do better than that.

At 6 we’d have a 9% chance for the first pick and another 9.2% for the second. That’s a 18.2% chance of landing either Williamson or Barrett. With how this season is going that may be our best result.

Unfortunately we’d also have a 50% chance of falling to 7th or 8th.

It must be January on Hornets Planet. I’m having dreams of tanking.

Haha same! Let’s get that first pick! Zion would change our franchise. But you know the NBA would not be that kind to us.

Could live with a pick in the lower half of the top 10, probably gives us a shot at less-hyped prospects like Jarrett Culver a wing with ball-handling, shooting and defense.

For those into college ball I’m curious your thoughts on Coby White and Bol Bol. The few times I’ve seen White play his speed and quickness has jumped out at me. I didn’t realize he had size at 6’5. He demonstrated today he can stroke it from range. I know it’s early and no real indication now but NBAdraft.net has him going late first round so he could be available with our mid first.

Also curious about Bol Bol. I never got to see him play and I know he’s out for the season with a foot injury. I recall they were hyping him like a sure fire high lottery pick. Now I see they have him mid first round so just wondering if he might be available with our pick and worth a shot to develop.

Barring his injury being a long term lingering issue, if we have the chance to draft Bol Bol and we don't I'd be pretty mad. Ceiling wise he's got Anthony Davis like potential imo. Unless his injury is serious, I doubt we have the opportunity to pick him up.
