I say this tonight with a heavy heart....... the reset button has been pushed and more than any of you could possibly imagine.

All I can say is....... the Big Man May be leaving the building. And I’m not talking about Kemba or Coach B......

So it appears MKG isn’t picking up his option.

So next year -

No Kemba
No MKG
No Lamb
No Frank
No Parker

But we’ll be okay; Nic and Marv will still be here.

It’s been a great year.

Assuming the Big Man refers here to the Chairman of the Board, I am unclear with the language.  What is the implication of "may" so much as to lead to the heavy heart? Seems like there's a long road to travel from may be leaving to selling a 2B dollar enterprise. Is the upset that he's gotten to a point that he would consider selling? Or the concern that he's ready "enough" to get out that there's no strong anticipation that getting out would automatically entail finding a buyer dedicated to this market? Or is this more a heavy heart because this appears as a preemptive reaction to things going very badly in a public relations sense before they shake out in 2 or so months?

MKG may take his option actually. We shall see.

I think you all know who I am speaking of. I expect news to take a while to surface of some of the decisions. Things could always change but in the next year, you will see MAJOR CHANGES.

I’m going on hiatus gents. Back before the draft.

God bless

Jordan sells (I would sell so fast if I were an owner) team moves to Seattle. Thus the heavy heart

I love having MJ as the owner of the team. I just wish he’d use his influence more to bring guys in. But I swear, if it’s sold and moved to Seattle or something, that would be horrible.

But how are you going to say something like this, and be gone until after the season is over?

If he sells it I would understand, hell it's made a ton of money from when he bought it. I don't think the team leaves again though, Charlotte is a booming market, though a small one, but still people are flocking here like crazy. I doubt the NBA would allow that, and I doubt the city let's them leave either, much different climate now than there was in the early 2000s.

As far as relocation goes, I'd see Memphis or New Orleans before Charlotte easily. We just came off a great All Star Game and rave reviews from everyone.

If I was a billionaire, hell yeah I'd sell and go live on an island somewhere with my beautiful wife and enjoy my golden years. Lol

Big changes, well it is what it is. I'm purple and teal until I die.

I can never see Jordan selling the team unless he gets ring #7.

I just can’t believe he would quit. The team is profitable, he still makes a fortune from Nike, why on earth would he sell?

I don't see him selling either, guy literally just hosted the all star game and fought hard as hell for us to get it

I think I doubled the value above, believe it was more like 1.3B but still the same sentiment.  But I am confused by the suggestion as well.  He might be frustrated as hell that things are not progressing but a departure, right after winning over the All Star game (and I thought getting good reviews from it) coupled with the level of interactive community work he brought in with him when he took over, seems odd he'd be strongly considering selling and not being the face of the franchise.

Now if you were to tell me that Mitch is heading out under his own power, that might suggest a struggle with what we have always heard suggested. That there is a power struggle for control within management's ability to manage. And while that would be kind of a stunner, it makes almost more sense than Jordan selling the team on this (all things but on-the-court) high.

I'll stay tuned but not sure what I am waiting to hear/see and when - pretty confused by the above.

Well I could also see a world where it makes sense. Say there's messaging getting returned that Kemba is leaving (and possibly others opting out or not entertaining our interest), and if there's word that this new coaching hire isn't going over swimmingly with the vets, and if there's a genuine fear that Orlando, with Clifford at the wheel, will do what we have said is our only goal at our expense, I could see it. No greater defense to getting hammered in the public eye of not being a good owner than turning effectively a good credit score into 1 billion dollars.

But honestly... as bad as it’s been, we still have a shot to get in the playoffs. No one really wants to really pull away for that 8th spot. I’m actually really exited for this offseason. We probably will actually make a lot of moves. Then again.... I thought we’d do that at the deadline also. I’m not sure what to think.
