I don’t think that’s likely.

Hell what do I know but here’s another list I made :)

Zion Williamson
Jarrett Culver
Ja Morant
RJ Barrett
Cam Reddish
Nassir Little
Coby White
DeAndre Hunter

That’s my top eight. I guess Hunter could drop 4 spots but I just don’t see who moves up. If anything Little moves down and Hunter up(?)

Just my take; love to hear what you all think.

And I know Bol Bol has been mentioned, but he doesn’t make my list. I just don’t think he can add weight. He’s said as much.

It doesn’t seem that there are any meaningful PF’s 6-9 or over in this draft. If I drop down to 6-8 then things open up. Drop down to 6-6 and Zion becomes a factor ;)

So much for that logic...

Just don’t want to duplicate Miles Bridges who I guess is a 3/4. I’d like a true 4 or 4/5 who can be a strong defender without being a loss offensively. The Gonzaga guys might fit the bill, or wait a year on Okeke.

I made a list. This is it.

PJ Washington
Brandon Clarke
Rui Hachimura
Chuma Okeke
Fernando Bruno
Jaxon Hayes

These are the bigs I like that may be available where we’ll be picking. I really don’t know which one I like best. Maybe Okeke, but of course he’s injured pretty bad. I’d really prefer a PF for now over a C. I could see running with what we have now at the 5; but man oh man do we need a 4 with some size and skills. Someone preferably at least 6-9. But that’s only Hayes and Bruno; who are both 5’s. Need to see combine info on height and wingspans.

Are any of these guys difference makers?

What about that kid from Texas tech?

Holding out hope that Mike sells.

We are going to select Luke Maye..... I know it.

But, we seriously need a tough big who will knock someone on their ass.

With Zeller, Hernangomez, and Biyombo (to say nothing of what happens with Kaminsky's QO) all under contract next season the last thing Charlotte needs is a center for the sake of drafting a center. If you absolutely love a particular guy that's a bit different (always draft someone you think is going to be a star, regardless of position [obviously]), but they have no need of another rotation big.

Best player available.  Period.

The only position i feel comfortable with is point guard and most of you want to let that walk away this offseason.

IF you feel like you can re-sign Kemba, you shy away from PG's but other than that.... BEST PLAYER ON THE BOARD.   We aren't good enough to draft for position.

I'd be good with that. Could play the Lin role next to Kemba and Graham, but that would still come with the challenge on the defensive end of having an undersized back court.

I 💯 agree. That's why I said shy away. If something like that is an option you take it regardless of current personnel.

But if we have Kemba I'm less likely to take a less than lead pipe lock superstar at point guard.

But that makes things confusing. So let's take away the Kemba caveat. Let's make things real simple. Take the BPA

Our team goal at this point should be to lose the next three games and hope like hell Minnesota wins at least one game.   That would put is in our best possible draft position ( could have been as high as 8th, but in typical hornets fashion we had to go on a completely useless 4 game winning streak and lock ourselves in the 10-12 range)

10th versus 11 is massive as it triples our chances at a top 4 pick.      Seriously... that winning streak was so freaking worthless and stupid its annoying.   These worthless moral victories are why we are consistently in mediocrity.    without that streak we'd be sitting at 31 wins and in the running for a 42% chance at a top pick in a top heavy draft.    UGGHGHGHGHHG

anyway.  locked into the Hornets typical spot at 10-13.   Bol Bol seems to be the only potential difference maker and also the biggest bust potential.

You are right on all counts. But, this, my friend, is the year of redemption where the hornets will be rewarded for not losing on purpose, for pursuing mediocrity with the youthful vigor of a teenage boy struggling at a bra strap, for staring down two kings and telling the blackjack dealer "hit me!". Yes, we will defy the league. Yes, we will win the lottery!

Who's with me?!!!

So we went with the "Winning for Williamson" vs. "not tryin for Zion" approach.

Man it does not matter. Draft position or not, we have sucked at drafting. Draft the best damn player wherever we pick. We screwed up #2, it just dont matter man.
