Bridges and Bacon are looking like they can be better than reserve talent. Bridges had his issues at times shooting and finishing, but not bad for a rookie.

I don't think either are starter level (on a good team). Bridges in time maybe. And I don't say that as a bad thing.

Holding out hope that Mike sells.

I agree. You cant predict how high they can go until you give them a legit chance. There are players that show out with a real opportunity all the time.

Miles is an eventual 2500 minute 2-way starter. He’s gonna be really good in the Marvin-Tucker-AG mashup kinda way which I intend as a huge compliment.

Bacon, IDK the jury is still out. His production against Playoff caliber teams this season was outstanding though. Forced to guess I’d say at least an 8th man depending on his ability to create.

I still think miles has a super long way to go to hot that mashup but the tools and foundation are both there

The only thing I can say is, the guys who become great players one day, showed some flashes at some point early in their careers.  Miles of Bacon have definitely shown some pop, the ability to perform at a high level against good competition.

The key to actually becoming great is to learn how to be consistently at that great level.  Kemba showed a ton of flashes early on, but when he finally figured out how to hit that consistency the last 3-4 years, thats when he established himself as elite level.

The flip side, if you never show any flashes early on, there is no great talent base to build consistency on.  Just hope to be a great journeyman who teams need in a role.

Maybe I'm higher on Bridges than others here but, he really surprised me this year. I think he's easily a starting caliber player and in his prime could be fringe all-star and at the least a high level starter.

Let's take a look and compare Miles to everyone's favorite Bobcat- Gerald Wallace. We can compare Gerald's first season here in Charlotte (4th season in the league vs. Miles' 25 games as a rookie starter). I don't see any reason that Miles can't have the same type of career arc as Crash did. Different games but, similar size/athleticism.

GW- 22 years old, 6'7" 220

MB- 20 years old, 6'7" 225

GW - Minutes = 30.7

MB -  Minutes = 26.2

GW - PTS = 11.1

MB - PTS = 9.6

GW - Reb = 5.5

MB - Reb = 5.3

GW - Ast = 2.0

MB - Ast = 1.6

GW - Stls = 1.7

MB Stls = 1.1

GW - Blk = 1.3

MB Blk = 0.6

GW - Shooting = FG% 45, 3FG% 27, FT% 66

MB - Shooting = FG% 49, 3FG% 35, FT% 83

I always maintained during the kemba is a starter/6th man wars given the way he plays (and still does) he needed to become more efficient from the floor and three, and give me Derrick Rose scoring. You can't play the way kemba plays and not average 25+.

He did those things. Bridges and bacon have much much further to go to even be E where kemba was.

Holding out hope that Mike sells.

For the record, Gerald Wallace is not my favorite Bobcat, not even in the top 5.   Sorry.   I just couldn't let that stand.

Gerald Wallace giving his all at the arena was something special to behold, especially for those 7 to 10 dollar ticket prices....

First of all that was a great post and a solid comp. I 100% agree on the Bridges love. I think he's ... Miles... ahead of where Gerald Wallace was and the numbers prove it out. Better FG% and more efficient at a much younger age and experience level. And Gerald is inarguably a top 5 GREAT Bobcat which proves your point that we're on the right track with Bridges.... Just not my FAVORITE.

Crash was all dunks and putbacks. Was disrupuve and sometimes productive but all defense, never really developed a dependable shot. I don't like the grit an grind style, give me Durant over Beverly. He played hard yes, but recklessly and never beautifully. He was a sixth man we paid as a starter, and I always felt that with him as a focus financially and stylistically we would always be a mediocre to bad team. Basically all the same reasons Swedd wants to push Kemba away for nothing in return. How's that for edge. "I'll let an asset walk for nothing... See if I give a heck."

1. Kemba (fine doesn't count)
1. Al Jefferson
2. Ray Felton
3. Jason Richardson
4. Boris Diaw
5. Stephen Jackson
6. Adam Morrison
7. Hendo
8. Emeka Okafor
9. Crash
10. The Slovenian Butterfly
