Dedric Lawson from Kansas taped out really well at the combine. I liked his game before and even more now. I like him a lot if available in the second round.

Brandon Clarke has heart and plays hard which we need.  But he's like 24-25 y.o.s, undersized with a game dependent on athleticism.  If they don't mind smaller fours I'd look at a more well-rounded player like PJ Washington, not sure at #12 though.  Maybe Mitch plans to trade down? (Again.)

If not, I'd roll the dice on Doumbouya at #12.  Needs patience but have to remember the kid is playing against grown men at 18.  Doesn't scream "immediate help" far as keeping Kemba goes, though.

this is a logistics/cap question. let's just pretend jimmy butler is up for grabs (likely) and is interested in joining kemba in charlotte (unlikely).

using the #12, monk etc what would the front office need to move in order to sign both kemba and butler at max rates? is it even realistically possible?

perfect hornets choice.

needs: shooting, guard play, scoring, dynamic offensive player, high ceiling

pick: defense, undersized, offensively limited, non-shooter, hustle guy, 23 years old

Brandon Clarke? Yuck.

Already have enough tremendous players with hustle and heart.

I'd like a guy like PJ Washington, Michael Porter Jr., Romeo Langford, Luguentz Dort, Keldon Johnson, or Nickeil Alexander-Walker. All our young wing prospects that have some decent skills in their arsenal but plenty to work on. MPJ and Langford are especially intriguing to me

Michael Porter Jr.

Gonna be really hard to draft a guy who already got drafted last year and is on an NBA roster

As a Hokie fan, I would love to keep rooting for Alexander-Walker in Charlotte. Don't know enough about the rest of the draft so he may be a reach at 12, but he's been building a solid skillset. He spent a lot of the last half of the season on the ball since our starting PG went down with an injury so his scoring and thus stats took a hit.

I think a lot of what you're doing in the draft strongly depends on what kind of feedback you're getting from Kemba's camp. If he feels like the team NEEDS to get him some sort of running mate in order to feel good about re-signing, then you probably shrug and start kicking the tires on (insert veteran names people won't like and I don't care to argue about right now).
