can see minimum rotation player with a strong possibility to being a solid starter at forward next to Bridges...neither great shot creators but checks a lot of boxes for whats expected from forwards in nba offenses today

This seemed like the most rational choice based on how things developed over the course of the night. Great pick!

If he can bring a serviceable inside/out game, that would be a boon for Kemba and company.

I'm going to remain positive. Looks like a player if not a game changer.

this can't be overstated enough. before this draft, it was near universally accepted that it was weak draft in terms of franchise changing talent. it was thought to be moderately deep in starter/reserve/solid nba talent from 4-20's. as with every draft by the time the overhype machine of espn (broadcast reasons) and general fan enthusiasm gets humming at full speed, everyone talks themselves into player x being a sure fire high upside when in reality they are still the marginal to solid nba rotation player they always were.

To be honest I don't know anything at all about our latest lottery selection and tried to do some intel on him now.
I found this pretty nicely done scouting report on him on google and thought I share it with you:
https://www.thestepi...-pj-washington/

With a few days to think about I'm generally happy with our pick and I'm looking forward to see him play in purple and teal!

I'm happy with the pick.   He fits what we needed and I just didn't see taking a chance on the health of Bol Bol which was tempting.   Not complaining at all.

If I am reading the tea leaves right, that (bolded) statement is actually what most folks seem to be upset by.  Fit == predictable and for that, we are bad decision makers and non risk takers.  I tend to agree with you and the upshot is, he was their BPA and happened to fit with what we are doing.  I was looking at mocks for a week or so out and PJ seemed to be the pick of the litter.  I thought the same way about Miles last year.  This predictable stuff seems a LOT better than taking an Alexis Ajinca at whatever elevated pick we took him.

Here comes McRoberts, the throw to Walker, it's in the aaaaaiiiiirrrr, YESSSSS! Bobcats win it! My my my, Kemba Walker. Steve Martin - Toronto 12/18/2013

I don't think he is boring. If all the highlights in the 12 range, his excited me the most. I love that type of game

I wish he was two inches taller. That’s about it. Otherwise I think he was BPA at 12.

As I mentioned before; for all the talk and projection, the Hornets so far have been uninspired in upgrading the team thru trades. We’ll see what comes next.

At least we haven’t made any horrifying mistakes; yet.

PJ's numbers/videos remind me of LJ post-injury circa '95 in Charlotte.

He's not the immovable, rebounding, explosive athlete of early LJ, but hopefully has the potential of post injury LJ, whose per36min peaked at 18 pts, 7.5 rbs, and 4 ast, shooting 37% from 3, in '95-96.

Edit: We know LJ played some at the 3-spot post-injury, but I'm thinking that guy would have been plugged into the 4 in today's game.

There's plenty of garbage in every generation of music.

We had Limp Bizkit, so I'm not judging a generation's music.

Sorry to admit I saw them live with Korn.
